Event Team

The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission is looking for a group of up to eight people to help the staff in this year’s Continental Cup International Youth Sports Festival. The 2012 Continental Cup takes places at a variety of locations throughout Northeast Ohio including: John Carroll University (University Heights), Lost Nation Sports Park (Willoughby), Euclid Memorial Park (Euclid), and additional locations to be determined. As a member of the Continental Cup Crew, you will be required to commit to the entire tournament (including setup and tear-down) from July 2 – July 8, 2012.

Ideal candidates must have:
  • High level of enthusiasm towards soccer, baseball, basketball and/or internationalism
  • Strong work ethic
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to keep pace and adapt to a quick moving environment

Responsibilities of Event Crew members may include, but are not limited to:
  • International team welcome committee
  • Tournament operations (soccer, baseball, basketball)
  • Field operations
  • Tournament Headquarter operations
  • Ancillary events
  • Opening Ceremonies
  • Athlete Festival/Dance Party

Compensation
In return for your time, effort, and commitment, the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission is pleased to provide Continental Cup Event Crew and Team Hosts with the following:
  • Hands on experience in the sports industry
  • Opportunity to network with area professionals
  • Complimentary meals during your stay
  • On-site housing in the dorms at John Carroll University
  • Continental Cup event apparel
  • $100 stipend


Team Hosts

Responsibilities of Team Host members may include, but are not limited to:
  • Speak the language of respective teams
  • Please include in your application the foreign language you are fluent in
  • Welcome team upon arrival and assist with check-in
  • Serve as the liaison for a number of teams while also supporting event staff on campus
  • Assist with arrangements of local meals, transportation, and entertainment
